In the heart of France, in the Massif Central region, near VOLVIC, lies this family home that was built by hand in 1997. It is situated in nature on the south side of a small lake and has no direct neighbors.

Until now, this house has provided the opportunity for family life with three children, as well as hosting various individuals and groups over the course of more than 20 years.

With both daughters now studying far away and the youngest preparing for his final exams, space and capacity have become available.

The simple country life, surrounded by horses, goats, dogs, cats, chickens, bees, and more, offers many opportunities to work together on daily tasks.

The daily rhythm is initially dictated by animal care, milking, and goat cheese production before addressing various other needs such as pasture maintenance, construction projects, repairs, excursions, and more. These tasks are discussed over breakfast, taking into account the individual abilities and needs of the people in the community.

In addition to the expansive natural surroundings, there are amenities such as a trampoline, riding arena, table tennis table, bicycles, hammocks, books, and games available for on-site recreation. During summer nights, the impressive, clear starry sky with the shining Milky Way provides an opportunity to contemplate the infinity of nature while spending time together on the trampoline.

The « holiday workshop » (Ferienwerkstatt) also offers the opportunity for personal development, as guests are encouraged to work on themselves during their stay. The workshop lives up to its name by providing the opportunity to work with various materials. The house’s workshop allows for welding, planing, and many other experiments. The motto of sustainability applies: « Try to repair, avoid throwing away. »
